    About the standard

    The RCS standard was developed by the Materials Traceability Working Group, a part of the Outdoor Industry Association’s Sustainability Working Group. It adopts the chain of custody requirements defined in the Content Claim Standard (CCS).

    The RCS verifies the presence and percentage of recycled content in final products through third-party input and chain of custody audits. This ensures a transparent, consistent, and reliable method for confirming recycled material claims, from sourcing to final labeling.
