About the standard
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) accredits Control Union Certifications to carry out certifications under the National Organic Program (NOP).
Our accredited Dutch head office leads a global network of offices that delivers efficient and cost effective certifications services while maintaining strict professional auditing and certification procedures.
Organic farming promotes sustainable food production by respecting natural life cycles and minimizing environmental impacts. It excludes genetically modified organisms (GMO) and synthetic input, encouraging natural methods of cultivation.
Certification process
To enter the organic market, operators must certify supply chain steps from farming, food processing, distribution and retailing. Once all requirements are fulfilled, we issue the organic certificate, enabling the use of the USDA Organic logo on certified products. Control Union Certifications conducts annual audits and certification services to ensure businesses stay compliant with NOP regulation.
