Communit Waste Program CWP

The Community Waste Program (CWP) is a comprehensive international certification standard that encompasses waste collection, determination of recycled content, and chain of custody. The standard aims to achieve/broaden the traceability scope beyond recyclers to include concentrators/micro collectors. It assists in pollution reduction, safeguarding of environment, waste management and promotion of the well-being of waste pickers thereby fostering sustainable livelihoods.

    Apa itu Limbah Komunitas?

    Limbah komunitas mencakup namun tidak terbatas pada sampah padat perkotaan, limbah industri, limbah pertanian, limbah berbahaya yang dihasilkan di wilayah geografis tertentu, serta mencakup pula limbah elektronik (e-waste), sampah padat perkotaan, limbah biomedis, limbah plastik, limbah tekstil, limbah baterai, limbah industri, limbah konstruksi & pembongkaran, dan lain sebagainya.

    Pendekatan Daur Ulang Berbasis Tema yang Strategis

    Fasilitas dapat mengklaim pendekatan “Daur Ulang Berbasis Tema” di mana fasilitas yang berminat melakukan pengumpulan pada acara-acara tertentu dapat mengklaim pemanfaatan material daur ulang dari acara tersebut dan meraih sertifikasi di bawah program ini.

    1. Botol Bir – 100% Kaca yang dikumpulkan dari Limbah Komunitas Pantai
    2. Tas Trekking — Dibuat dengan 80% PET dari Limbah Komunitas Pegunungan
    3. Dupa — Dibuat dengan 80% dari Limbah Komunitas Kuil

    Manfaat Program

    Standar ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan kerangka kerja yang komprehensif dan seperangkat pedoman bagi pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi program pengelolaan limbah yang efektif di dalam komunitas melalui:

    • Mendorong standar pengumpulan/daur ulang limbah yang kredibel dan berkualitas tinggi

    • Transparansi dalam keterlacakan asal limbah dan kandungan daur ulang

    • Memfasilitasi kepatuhan terhadap regulasi limbah Uni Eropa dan lokal, mendorong ekonomi sirkular

    • Mendorong upcycling/downcycling untuk mencegah pembuangan ke tempat pembuangan akhir

    • Meningkatkan status sosial-ekonomi mitra dan melarang pekerja anak/kerja paksa

    • Memastikan integrasi material berkelanjutan ke dalam produk akhir

    • Mendukung sistem EPR yang ada untuk transparansi yang lebih baik

    • Dapat dimanfaatkan untuk melacak rantai pasokan (dana, kredit)

    Our Community Waste Program certification process

    Getting certified in 5 steps

    Getting certified for the Community Waste Program will require the following steps:

    Select the right standard

    As Control Union we offer four different standards; Collection organisation Standard, Recycling organisation Standard, Neutralization Service provider standard and Plastic Producers & Users standard.

    Review the Standard and related document

    Once you review the standard and select applicable standard for you, contact us to initiate the contracting process. You will be provided with an application form, and we expect sufficient and accurate information shall be provided to us.

    Contracting and audit planning

    Once we received the application form, we send you an proposal for getting certified. Agreements and contract will be signed with you considering ethical business practices and CU’s code of conduct requirement. When the contacting process is completed, our local team will approach you for scheduling the audit and plan the audit activities. We keep minimum 14 days between the audit date and audit date confirmation. Based on your availability and our auditor’s availability the audit date will be confirmed.

    Audit execution

    The audit will be executed as per the date and schedule confirmed between both parties. The Auditor will perform the audit independently based on the requirements set in the standards, protocol and CUIR. The auditor will confirm and share the result of audit when the audit is completed with you and certifier.

    Certification

    Based on the report of the auditor, findings and outcome , the certification decision will be taken. You will be awarded with a certificate when the audit is successfully completed. Facility details will be updated on the Ocean Bound Plastic website and Control Union website under “certified facilities”.
